And the Winner for the Stupidest Injury of the Month Award is...

Me, of course.

So, I'm carrying a bucket. An off-white, completely empty, featherweight plastic bucket. It's not a bad bucket, certainly a useful one, but what one cannot say about it is that it is heavy. Because it's completely not. Logically, the only way someone would be able to hurt themselves with said bucket would be to put it on their head and run into a tree. Or hit themselves in the head with the help of a centrifugal force experiment.

Anyways, said incredibly light and ridiculously undangerous bucket was being carried by myself back to the Valleyview porch, to be reunited with it's bucket-y brethren. And lo, the bucket was indeed reunited, and the successful adventurer journeyed back to the Shed of Fire, where she belonged.

But alas, somewhere between the porch and the shed the thieving warrior realized that someone's voodoo doll of her had had a massive pin shoved in her wrist, because it certainly felt like someone had shove a large gauge needle into the crux of her wrist. And after a bit of examination, she decided that the nurse's station sounded like a good idea.

Might it be noted that I was not bawling coming down from HQ. I had dust in my eye.

And verily, the wrist of the warrior was examined by the nursing staff and lo, did the staff freak out when someone mentioned that my wrist looked swollen. Much ice was applied and an ambulance was called, as via procedure. There were many fond and heartfelt wishes, and much concern for the thieving warrior, and she does apologize for making all of thee worry so.

The EMTs were...amusing, I must say. Not even they could figure out what the hell was wrong. It took one pediatric doctor, two nurses, three x-rays,. and four hours in the Pediatric Unit as Howard County General to figure out that I had torn a ligament or two in my wrist, and the funny colored bump was actually a contusion cause by the damaged flesh.

Not a bug bite, as everyone thought it was.

So now I'm in a half cast that runs from my knuckles to three inches above my wrist, forcing me to do everything at an odd angle due to the way Doctor Watt wanted my wrist to be. Typing is currently a bitch.

I am going back to camp tomorrow. I am going back and kicking that stupid bucket and it is going to like it.

Effing bucket.
